I Carry Your Heart

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

It is third time in SS today, I am reading cummings.

I can read him any number of times.

I surprised myself by knowing it in the first line. I miss Michael Hedges and I didn't know when I heard this song years ago that it was cummings. I was expecting him to even sing, since he rarely did. What a convergence. Thanks!

lovely post,, and thank you for reproducing e.e. cummings sans capitals,, as it is how he would have envisioned it....

Thanks for visiting my blog.

The line "i fear" throws off the number of lines, which is why I love it as a sonnet in disguise.

I've never heard e.e. cummings set to music, so thanks for sharing the video. I'll have to look for a good audio version for my iPod.
